ANIMA MUNDI #5 - EXPLORING ENVIRONMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH SOUND ART AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE

12th Sept. - 1st Nov. 2024

Extended until 31st December 2024

Curated by: Richard Carr & Dr. Joseph Young

SLEEPERTOWN is a mobile public art programme which is currently traveling the globe.

Now in Berlin & Brandenburg, SLEEPERTOWN features as part of ANIMA MUNDI #5 in association with Errant Sound. ANIMA MUNDI is a European exchange project and a network of non-profit organisations for sound art and contemporary music from Germany, Poland and Ireland. It produces innovative sonic works exploring environmental relationships, climate change, and ecological issues.

SLEEPERTOWN | BERLIN & BRANDENBURG consists of 11 audio-walks which have been created by a group of diverse, international practitioners, including artists, composers, and activists, to poets, performers, and musicians. SLEEPERTOWN utilises mobile technologies (Geo-Fencing) to create a parallel world of listening, digitally accessible within the public realm / real world locations via personal mobile devices. Each unique artwork is triggered by the listener as they move/explore the landscape in a series of stunning locations throughout Berlin & Brandenburg, Germany.

The program is accessible at any time during the project period via smartphone, Echoes app and headphones, and can be experienced free of charge. These walks are self-directed and it is one’s own responsibility to take care of their own personal health and safety at all times. On selected days, there will be guided tours on site by Errant Sound for which tickets can be purchased here. Please also take note of our Health & Safety Notice here.
